POST 8: English Language challenges

The English language, I will tell you what I suffered with it. To begin with, I live in Curacaví, I studied basic education in this town, but in high school I went to study in Santiago. My first English class entered the teacher, and the class was transformed, even the least diligent of my class spoke fluent English, imagine how I felt among all of them. English has always been difficult for me, I understand it, I can understand what they speak to me and more if it is written, but I cannot speak, it takes me a long time to express an idea. On the other hand, writing takes me time, but despite that I try, especially with these blogs. Studying English at university and writing these blogs has helped me a lot, I am not an expert, but I have tried it myself and thus I have gained a lot of vocabulary. The dynamics of this level help me not to demotivate myself and learn in a clear and entertaining way. English in my everyday life? My mom's brother speaks it very fluently and he...

POST 7: Changes to my study programme

I started my career in 2019, for this reason I had the opportunity to spend a year attending face-to-face classes, where I was able to get to know the faculty and its environment in a wide area. This is very small with many green areas and very cozy, although it lacks infrastructure to be able to be during the winter, for example, during sheltered hours when we are all without classes, it was very difficult to find a place to protect yourself from the cold and when it rained it was even more complicated, especially if you wanted a comfortable space to have lunch. On the other hand, I think that the study plan is very complete, the first years are general branches where they allow us to create bonds with all our fellow students, which I think is very good, since we are all facing something new and very different, regardless of whether we belong to the same career. It is true that attending the faculty in person is very heavy, but from the experience I had, a face-to-face year ...

POST 6: Time Travel to the future

Travel to the future? I will tell you a little secret, my English 4 teacher, René Larenas, has given us themes inspired by our future to carry out the work of this course. Throughout my life, everyone who knows me knows that something I hate is thinking or talking about the future, therefore, they will imagine that performing these tasks has cost me a lot. Returning to the theme of this blog if I would like to travel to the future? My answer is no. I prefer to concentrate on enjoying the present, sharing and enjoying my loved ones, and of course living day to day. As my professor mentioned in his post, traveling to the future would be a great tool for scientists and influencers for changes in the world. When I finish my degree and gain experience in my area, I could consider this trip to the future, but only with the purpose of a search for change for our society, a futuristic diet, looking for that small evolution that 3D food printers need , the latter would be a big change, si...

POST 5: My future job

I don't like to think much about the future, nor do I like to have everything planned, I think we all know that life is not easy and that things don't just come to us. What would I like to work on in the future? It is a complex question, as a food engineer, creating new products based on good nutrition for people, without forgetting the influence this will have on the environment is something that really interests me. But would I always like to be in that area? I do not know, perhaps there are other sectors in which I feel more comfortable and do not know until I have an experience in this. Finishing my degree, I would not care in which area to work if it had a good salary as a reward, this would help me to cover expenses and become independent. After this, I would look for a job that would fill me completely, having already worked, I will gain experience and perhaps know that it is really what interests me. I sincerely believe that the path we have traveled is opening ...

POST 4: The micronutrients

The micronutrients, what their function? What the influence they have on a diet? How are they subdivided and what foods contain them? This topic is very interesting on account of the great benefits that this type of nutrients even though the portions to be consumed are small. Also because of the little knowledge that the general population has regarding this. To start talking about micronutrients we must have prior knowledge: • Nutrition consists of obtaining the nutrients that are in food • Nutrients are chemical compounds contained in food that provide cells with everything they need to live; these are subdivided into two large groups: Macronutrients are those substances that provide energy, help repair and build organic structures, among other functions (These include proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids) and the micronutrients that are our main topic. Micronutrients, generally derived from food consumption, are substances that do not provide energy, but are essentia...

POST 3: Don't limit yourself to eating CHOCOLATE, just choose well.

Chocolate is a semi-solid suspension of crystalline sugar particles, solid cocoa and fat crystals, lecithin, and powdered milk. Depending on the amount of each of these ingredients, there will be different types of chocolate: milk, bitter, white, etc. He refrains from consuming it since he considers it a candy, that is, a harmful food when considering a healthy diet. However, studies have revealed that chocolate has positive effects on the health of both people who do not suffer from any type of condition and those who, if they suffer from diseases such as cardiovascular disease and diabetes, this is because it has an antioxidant capacity, helping to slow down cell damage caused by free radicals. This characteristic is due to its high content of polyphenols, which have recently been in the eye of science due to their multiple benefits, and among these the good effect they have on blood pressure, anti-inflammatory impact, and antioxidant properties. In chocolate, these benefits c...

POST 2: The best holidays

Today I will tell you about my best vacations, these were in the winter of 2016, together with my parents and grandparents. Our destination, Easter Island, I can say that it is a wonderful island. It is true that everything is very far away, you must have a good vehicle and a lot of desire to walk, but for us it was not a problem. We woke up early, with our days completely planned and with all the desire to enjoy and know. The tour to Terevaka was one of my favorite places, this is the highest volcano where you have an incredible view of the entire island, you can go up on foot or on horseback. My family is from the countryside, and we grew up on horses, we were interested in knowing the way they rode there, that's why we went up on horseback. You can't imagine the surprise we get, their horses are very small, their saddles very uncomfortable and the Raisin people are very messy to ride, therefore their horses are not so easy to handle. I can tell you that it was a very unc...
